What a great semester! Over the past few months, I taught two courses of Designing for Interactivity, a web design class, over at Sussex County Community College. My students learned how to complete web designs from the ground up, starting with sketches, then Photoshop mock-ups, developing with HTML, and designing with CSS.
We laughed, we cried, I yelled a lot, I made a fool of myself occasionally, but most of all, we learned. I did what I could to pass along my self-taught, real-world experience, and some of my students taught me a thing or two also; overall a resounding success I say!
I’m very fortunate to have had this opportunity, and although teaching is not my main passion, it has been a rewarding detour, and I’ll likely pursue teaching again.
To my students: Thank you!
